Susan Howard

Howard combines her love and respect for nature, color, and humor to create imaginary worlds teeming with energy and drama. The hybrid creatures, genetically engineered from paint, are anthropomorphic representations of the people who inhabit her universe, complete with eccentric personalities and soul. “I believe art has the power to enlighten and inspire, to shorten the ever growing disconnect between man and the natural world. “

Howard receiver her MFA at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and exhibited extensively in the Philadelphia area thereafter. She has been in several juried museum exhibitions including the Delaware Art Museum Biennial in 2000, received the 3rd prize for painting in Art of the State: Pennsylvania 2002, and was chosen artist for Art in the Embassies Program in 2006. Howard currently spends part of the year in Florida but maintains a studio in Philadelphia.
